Why haskap berry?

Haskap berry is becoming more and more popular all over the world, mainly due to the fact that it has low requirements for cultivation and due to the high content of nutrients. Few people are aware of the fact that the berry has many more crucial nutrients than apples or oranges.

Haskap berry is a real vitamin bomb. It contains 13 times (!) more vitamin A than an apple, 10 times more vitamin C than grape and 3 times more vitamin E than an orange. In addition to vitamins, the berry is also rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron, and their content exceeds, for example, blueberries and pomegranates. It is also worth noting that haskap berry is a rich source of many organic chemical compounds, e.g. polyphenols and flavonoids. Polyphenols have an antioxidant effect and reduce the risk of developing diabetes, kidney failure or cancer. Flavonoids, on the other hand, show anti-inflammatory effect and seal blood vessels.

Haskap berries also contain large amounts of anthocyanins, which are a natural pigment found in many fruits and vegetables. Until recently, the medicine did not attribute any pharmacological properties to these chemical compounds, however, in recent years many scientific works have been created that confirm the beneficial effects of anthocyanins on the human body. They can prevent liver disease, protect against cardiovascular disease and reduce the risk of heart attack. They reduce inflammation, strengthen capillaries, and can also prevent diabetes and obesity.
